You have not tasted phenomenal food until you have visited this slice of heaven! You want authentic soul food...CHECK! You want to stay away from heated from a bag chain restaurants...CHECK! Delicious Gumbo that will make you want to smack somebody (not your mama obviously!) The cup of gumbo was not enough and me and the hubs were fighting over the last spoonful (make a mental note and order the bowl next time!) There is actually real seafood and great tasting sausage in that gumbo! It is all homemade from scratch! It takes dedication and hard work to continue to be consistent every time we come here! So far I have had the fried chicken is done to perfection (get the scald on that just right), meatloaf (beautifully done and so delicious), baked fish, and they never fail! The greens has the most incredible pot liquor that are fresh not canned with you guessed it some marbled pork in there (they are not messing around!) Husband loves the macaroni and cheese and beef with gravy! I love the sweet potatoes with the marshmallows that are crispy on the top as a side and their cornbread is to be savored friend and you don't even need any butter! If you want to leave satisfied and want to impress the company your with bring them here. Chances are you will probably see us there!

OMG! My coworker told me about this place after her church member told her. I visited Saturday, April 5th, around 5 p.m. or so. I ordered the catfish and spring dinner, fried, with mac and cheese, dressing w cranberry sauce and French fries. I also had the oreo butter cake. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!!! The dressing rivaled my mom's, and I have plans on going again next Saturday. The server was attentive, and the atmosphere was nice. They were not crowded at all, which I prefer the 1st time I visit a place. They obviously do karaoke as some point or live music because there was a stage. There is also a bar and merch! Going to see Miss Hattie is a must! I don't know who she is or where she is, but THANK YOU for the great meal. I shall return. They also do breakfast, but the menu is not available online, nor do they have paper menus for breakfast, but I am sure it is delightful. On a side note, my partner ordered fried green tomatoes, which I am not normally a fan of, but tried them anyway, and they did not disappoint. I will get the meatloaf on my next visit.

It was my first time eating in this restaurant. If you like good Southern soul food, you should visit this friendly place with a nice kind of atmosphere I had beef tips on a bed of rice mixed with garden veggies, plus hush puppies, and a side of okra. The entire meal was done very well and tasteful. Service was excellent and quick. The entire staff was very kind and respectful. The restaurant is located on HWY North 59, just before you reach the turn off foe the Beech Express. Update 06/11/2025 My second visit to Hatties Sole food restaurant. I took my son and daughter-in-law to Hatties. We were greeted at the door by Danielle with a big Ole smile. She escorted us to a table, gave us our minutes, and told us the daily specials. Sometimes, there are so many good meals available, and it makes my choice difficult. She provided glasses of water and told us to take our time, I will be ready when you are. I chose blackened catfish with sides of mashed potatoes and Okra and hush puppies , a great southern meal choice. My daughter chose southern fried chicken with sides of Okra, mashed potatoes, and hush puppies. It was another great southern meal. My son chose breaded jalapino beef, with a side of Okra, and hush puppies. It's still another great Southern meal choice. We only waited about 15 minutes for our meals to be served. Boy, howdy, all the plates had plenty of food which was very taste, and cooked to perfection!. Danielle checked on us often and refilled our water glasses. I also noticed that Hatties does serve adult beverages, beer, wine, and liquor. There is also live music on Fridays. The restaurant was very clean and tastefully decorated. There is handicap parking available near the front door and other parking spaces in the parking lot out front of the building. If you are looking for excellent Southern style cooking, Hatties is a great place to start. The restaurant is located alongside HWY 59, Foley, Al.

Been wanting to try this place and I’m sure glad I did. If you’re in the mood for some good home cooked soul food this is your place. The smothered pork chops were great and their ribs are tender with a little Asian flare. Fried cabbage was good, not too greasy but just right.
